Taekwondo is one of the most systematic and scientific Korean traditional martial arts, that teaches more than physical fighting skills. It is a discipline that shows ways of enhancing our spirit and life through training our body and mind. Today, it has become a global sport that has gained an international reputation, and stands among the official games in the Olympics.

Taekwondo is the Korean Martial Art of Self Defence. It utilises strikes by both hands and feet and also features strong self defence.

Taekwondo helps develop life skills such as self respect, self discipline and improves confidence.

Although a contact sport, our main aim is to develop life skills through martial arts. Through Taekwondo students become more confident and able to achieve more throughout their own daily routines.

In the last twenty to thirty years, it has developed into one of the most effective styles of unarmed self-defence in the world. The art is also hugely popular and it is also used in the Olympics and other competitions. The art traditionally can help people defend themselves 

from allsorts of attacks such as:

  • Attacks from gangs
  • Pinned Attacks
  • Knife Attacks
  • Gun Attacks

Incidents to defend people weaker than yourself Basically there is loads that could be added to the list a you can tell as Taekwondo can play a vital role in certain people's lives
